We are planning to facilitate 3 schools, Lord Lawson of Beamish, Cardinal Hume and Heworth Grange in preparing and broadcasting news for the BBC School Report Day on 26th March 2009. The schools will take part in a variety of activities to develop skills in; finding, gathering, writing, assembling, ordering and broadcasting news. Interviews, sound and/or video recording, creation of original music and/or images could all be incorporated into the final product. The pupils will discover the processes that professional journalists follow and then take control when compiling and presenting their own researched topics on the day.
